I'm a bit behind the sphere on this one, but there's a list floating around about the "top things for a 13 year old to learn".

Here's mine, slightly modified from the others:

1. How to touch-type. Fast.
2. How to give presentations, be prepared with questions/answers, and use keynote/powerpoint properly.
3. Write at least one interesting novel using clear and clever prose.
4. Project management, crisis-solving.
5. How to search for information on the internet, and how to categorize/tag data.
6. English, French, Spanish, and at least one language with a different alphabet set (Chinese, Arabic, etc.)
7. Proficiency in at least one team sport.
8. General biology, chemistry and physics.
9. Ancient History, basic politics and how the world came to its current geopolitical landscape.
10. A visual art. Sculpting, Photography, Painting, etc.
11. A theatre art. Acting, Comedy, Drama, Ballet, etc.
12. How to confidently start (and gracefully end) a conversation.
13. The core beliefs of all the other major world religions.
14. The difference between culture and religion.
15. Math - algebra, geometry, calculus.
16. Wine-tasting.
17. Proper manners, and knowing when they are called for.
18. How to Ski, canoe, mountain climb, skydive and ride a bicycle.
19. Becoming adept at computer (not video) games: at least one FPS (first person shooter) to promote situational awareness, and one RTS (real-time strategy) for tactical thinking.
20. How to use a GPS system and read a map.
21. How to shake hands.
22. At least one bar or card game: pool, darts, poker, etc.
23. Latin.
24. How to grow and take care of a marijuana plant.
25. How to take care of a pet.
26. How to keep your pet away from your marijuana plant.
27. Basic woodworking. Or at least whittling.
28. Safe sex.
29. Humanism.
30. Basic first aid.
31. Meditation.
